Notes on Battery Disposal

In connection with the distribution of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:

As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries. You can return old batteries, which we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range, free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). The symbols depicted on the batteries have the following meanings:

The symbol of the crossed-out waste bin means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste.

Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead

Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium

Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury.

Special Considerations for the Sale of Starter Batteries

In connection with the distribution of vehicle batteries, we are required, as far as you are an end consumer according to § 10 BattG (Battery Act), to charge a deposit of €7.50 including VAT per vehicle battery if you do not return a used vehicle battery at the time of purchasing a new vehicle battery. The deposit is not included in the purchase price and is shown separately in addition to the final price of the article.

If you return a used vehicle battery to us that we carry or have carried as a new battery in our product range in accordance with § 9 BattG, we are obliged to take it back free of charge and refund the deposit amount.

If we have issued a deposit token in accordance with § 10 (1) sentence 3 BattG, the refund of the deposit is dependent on the return of the used vehicle battery with the deposit token.

The return location is the address listed in the imprint.

Sending back the used battery by post is not permitted due to hazardous goods regulations.

Alternatively, used vehicle batteries can also be returned free of charge at recycling centers and recycling yards. The deposit charged by us will not be refunded by the public law waste disposal facilities. However, you have the option to have the return of the used vehicle battery confirmed on the deposit token at these facilities. Upon presentation of the receipted deposit token, we will refund the battery deposit.
