Intelligent battery monitoring to avoid undesirable switching?
Some battery couplers (also called voltage-controlled relays or split charge relay) pair a battery if a short but high-emperor load occurs. Sometimes a battery coupler does not couple a large but unloaded batteryank because the DC voltage immediately drops under the threshold value for decoupling after the batteries have been connected.
The software of the Cyrix-CT 12/24 takes over more functions than simply connecting and separating based on the battery voltage and with a specified time delay. The Cyrix-CT 12/24 observes the general tendency (tension increases or decreases) and only reverses a previous measure if a tendency has reversed during a certain period of time. The time delay depends on how far the tension deviates from the tendency.
(For battery couplers with multiple switching/separation profiles, please note the Cyrix-i 400.)

Cyrix battery couplers are ideal for replacing separation diodes. Their main feature is that there is practically no voltage loss, so that the output voltage of the alternating current generators or the battery charger does not have to be increased.
The starter battery receives priority
In a typical structure, the AC generator is directly connected to the starter battery. The additional battery and possibly also a bow rudder and other batteries are connected to the starter battery via Cyrix battery couplers. When a Cyrix realizes that the starter battery has reached the connection voltage, it closes to enable the other batteries to load parallel.
Tension recording in both directions and power supply from both batteries
The Cyrix measures the voltage of the two connected batteries. It therefore also switches on when, for example, the additional battery is charged by a battery charger.
The Cyrix-CT 12/24 has a dual power supply. It also closes when the voltage on one of the batteries is too low to operate the Cyrix.
In order to avoid unintentional operation during installation or, if one of the batteries has been separated, the Cyrix-CT 12/24 does not close if the voltage on one of the two battery connections below 2 V (12 V battery) or 4 V (24 V battery).
Parallel connection for an emergency (Start Assist)
The Cyrix can also be switched on via a print button (Cyrix stays in operation for 30 seconds) or via a switch to connect the batteries in parallel by hand.
This is particularly useful in the event of an emergency if the starter battery is unloaded or damaged.

Victron Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-120A
The Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-1220A battery coupler from Victron Energy (MPN Cyr010120430) for 12V and 24V LIFEPO4 batteries. It can work with a maximum stream of 120a and is an ideal addition to the VE.Bus BMS as a battery switch for those loads that the VE.Bus BMS cannot switch independently.
Function of the Cyrix battery couplers in general
The Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-1220a is a high-performance microprocessor-controlled relay that automatically switches batteries in parallel when a specified voltage value has been achieved (which shows that the battery is loaded) and that the batteries again separates from each other when the voltage drops below the conservation voltage value (which shows that one or both batteries are being discharged). Cyrix battery couplers are ideal for replacing separation diodes. Their main feature is that there is practically no voltage loss, so that the output voltage of the alternating current generators or the battery charger does not have to be increased.
Working method of the Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V 120A
The Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-120A combines a battery charger with a delay time of 3 seconds:
If the output "Charge Disconnect" of the VE. Bus BMS is high and
If he measures 13.7 V (or 27.4 V or 54.8 V) or more on his battery charger connection and
If he measures 2 V or more on his battery connection (the Cyrix remains open if it is not connected to the battery).
The Cyrix-Li-Charge switches off immediately when its control output reaches the "Free Floating" state (open circuit), indicates a cell overvoltage or a cell over temperature. In general, a cell surplus alarm is reset shortly after the charging process has been stopped. The Cyrix then connects the charger again. After attempts were made twice to connect the device again over a period of 3 seconds, this delay time is extended to 10 minutes. Whenever the battery voltage is below 13.5 V (or 27 V or 54 V), the Cyrix switches off with a delay time of 1 hour.
Note 1: If the discharge current is equal to 0 or if there is only a very low discharge current, the Cyrix does not switch off shortly after switching off the charger and/or the separation because the battery voltage remains above the value of 13.5 V. Note 2: If the output of the battery charger, after the Cyrix has switched off, immediately increases to 13.7 V or more, the Cyrix switches back in with a delay time of 3 seconds.

Victron Argodiode 160-2ac 160a 2 batteries separation diode
The Victron Argo 160-2ac battery separation diode (MPN ARG160201020) enables the loading distribution from a power source (e.g. alternator) on 2 battery cycle. With the help of battery separating diodes, 2 separate battery circuits can be loaded from just one power source. The batteries do not have to be connected to each other, which simplifies the installation of these separation diodes very much and even saves installation costs. Technical features of the Victron Argo 160-2ac battery separation diode
The ARGO series uses the latest Shottky diodes to keep the voltage loss as low as possible
has electricity -limiting connection for the generator's start -up (e.g. alternator, alternator)
The Model ARGO 160-2AC delivers a maximum charging current of 160a and can operate 2 separate batteries or battery tie
Maximum current of the alternator is also 160a, for example, the on -board system battery can be loaded, without the starter battery being unloaded at the same time.
Minimal loss of voltage thanks to the latest Shottky Diodes The use of modern Shottky diodes also keeps the voltage loss small. It is approx. 0.3 V and the nominal current approx. 0.45 V. All models of the Victron Argo series are equipped with a compensation diode with which the output voltage of the alternator is slightly increased, so that the voltage loss through the shop To compensate for diodes. This is important because if the separation diode is connected to the cabling between the alternator and the battery without further measure, a voltage loss that leads to incomplete charge and early aging of the battery arises. Electricity flow -regulating alternator connectionSome types of generators need a DC voltage on the B+ POL for the starting system. On the one hand, a direct cable connection is available due to the connection between the battery and the generator. On the other hand, however, the separation diode prevents the flow of electricity, so that the generator does not start. The ARGO Diode from the Model 80-2AC has a special connection for the start-up stimulation when the generator is started and ensures a smooth current flow between the generator and the battery.

Victron Cyrix-i 12/24V-400A intelligent battery coupler
The Victron Cyrix-I 12/24V-400A (MPN CYR010400000) is a future-oriented battery coupler and prevents unwanted switching processes in charging current distribution.
In some battery control relays, separation processes are triggered at short streams. It can also happen that a large but empty battery group cannot be connected because the voltage drop when switching on the threshold is below the switch.
The software stored in the Cyrix-I does not only refer to voltage values and fixed time intervals. Rather, Cyrix-i takes the trend (tension/time-courses) and only intervenes if the trend changes over a certain time interval. The time delay is proportional to deviation from the trend. In addition, four different switching/time courses can be set.
Important product features of the Cyrix-i 12/24V-400A
Permanent current: 400A
Max. Top current (1 seconds): 1000A
Operating voltage area: 12V / 24V (auto detection)
Manufacturer-MPN: Cyr010400000
Automatic area choice at 12/24V and 24/48V Â
The Cyrix-i automatically recognizes the adjacent system voltage.
 No loss of tension Â
The Cyrix-i battery control is the alternative to separation diodes. Since there is practically no loss of voltage, the otherwise usual increase in the charging voltage on the alternator or on the charger is eliminated.
Priority circuit for the starter battery Â
Typically, the alternator is directly connected to the starter battery. The on-board system battery, possibly the bow jet battery and others are connected via Cyrix-I devices. Only when the starter battery has reached the corresponding voltage does Cyrix-i switch on the other batteries for parallel loading.
Bidirectional voltage measurement and power supply
The Cyrix-I measures the voltage values of the connected battery groups. It typically also reacts when the on -board system battery is loaded by a charger.
The Cyrix-I has a two-time power supply. It also works when one of the connected batteries has undervoltage for the Cyrix-I operation.
To avoid unwanted switching processes during the installation or after solving the battery connection, Cyrix-I will not switch if the voltage value falls from one of the two battery connections to less than 2V (12V battery), 4V (24V battery) or 8V (48V battery).
Parallel connection in an emergency
The Cyrix-I can also be switched on via a pressure switch (Cyrix-i then remains switched on for 30 seconds). There is also a switch for manual parallel circuit of the batteries. This is particularly helpful if the starter battery should be empty or damaged in an emergency.

Mastervolt BI 702-S 70A 12V 24V Heavy-Duty Battery separation diode
The master volt (83007021) BI 702-S battery separation diode is based on conventional diode technology. The separation diode is suitable for use in conventional systems with a alternator and a battery charger as well as 2 or 3 battery circles. The sloping diode voltage (approx. 0.6 V) can be compensated for by adapting the output voltage of the connected charger or generator. Master volt battery chargers and alpha per MB alternator controller are equipped with an automatic voltage drop compensation by default.
Master volt separation diodes are used to distribute the charging current between several batteries of the same nominal voltage. The use of a separation diode ensures that the battery rates do not unload each other. Master volt separation diodes are only suitable for assembly between the plus output of a power pathogen (charger or alternator) and the plus connection of the battery rates. The minus output of the power pathogo and the minus connections of the battery rates must be connected directly to each other. Separation diodes cannot be used in a system with a combined loader/converter.

CYR010230450
Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-230A
The Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-230A battery coupler from Victron Energy (MPN Cyr010230450) for 12V and 24V LIFEPO4 batteries. It can work with a maximum stream of 230A and, among other things, is an ideal addition to the VE.Bus BMS as a battery switch for loads that the VE.Bus BMS cannot switch independently.
Function of the Cyrix battery couplers in general
The Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-230A is a high-performance microprocessor-controlled relay that automatically switches batteries in parallel when a specified voltage value has reached (which shows that the batteries are loaded) and, which the batteries Separate if the voltage drops below the conservation voltage value (which shows that one or both batteries are being discharged). Cyrix battery couplers are ideal for replacing separation diodes. Their main feature is that there is practically no voltage loss, so that the output voltage of the alternating current generators or the battery charger does not have to be increased.
Working method of the Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V 230A
The Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V 230A switches when its control receipt reaches the "Free Floating" (open circuit). If the battery voltage recovers after switching off (this happens if no other loads are connected to the battery), the output of the BMS becomes up and the Cyrix switches back in after 30 seconds. After 3 switch -on attempts, the Cyrix remains switched off until the voltage has risen to over 13 V (or 26 V or 52 V) for at least 30 seconds (this is a sign that the battery is recharged).

Victron Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-230A
The Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-230A battery coupler from Victron Energy (MPN Cyr010230430) for 12V and 24V LIFEPO4 batteries. It can work with a maximum stream of 230A and, among other things, is an ideal addition to the VE.Bus BMS as a battery switch for loads that the VE.Bus BMS cannot switch independently.
Function of the Cyrix battery couplers in general
The Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-230A is a high-performance microprocessor-controlled relay that automatically switches batteries in parallel when a specified voltage value has been achieved (which shows that the battery is loaded) and that the batteries again separates from each other when the voltage drops below the conservation voltage value (which shows that one or both batteries are being discharged). Cyrix battery couplers are ideal for replacing separation diodes. Their main feature is that there is practically no voltage loss, so that the output voltage of the alternating current generators or the battery charger does not have to be increased.
Working method of the Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V 230A
The Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-230A combines a battery charger with a delay time of 3 seconds:
