Intelligent battery monitoring to avoid undesirable switching?
Some battery couplers (also called voltage-controlled relays or split charge relay) pair a battery if a short but high-emperor load occurs. Sometimes a battery coupler does not couple a large but unloaded batteryank because the DC voltage immediately drops under the threshold value for decoupling after the batteries have been connected.
The software of the Cyrix-CT 12/24 takes over more functions than simply connecting and separating based on the battery voltage and with a specified time delay. The Cyrix-CT 12/24 observes the general tendency (tension increases or decreases) and only reverses a previous measure if a tendency has reversed during a certain period of time. The time delay depends on how far the tension deviates from the tendency.

The starter battery receives priority
In a typical structure, the AC generator is directly connected to the starter battery. The additional battery and possibly also a bow rudder and other batteries are connected to the starter battery via Cyrix battery couplers. When a Cyrix realizes that the starter battery has reached the connection voltage, it closes to enable the other batteries to load parallel.
Tension recording in both directions and power supply from both batteries
The Cyrix measures the voltage of the two connected batteries. It therefore also switches on when, for example, the additional battery is charged by a battery charger.
The Cyrix-CT 12/24 has a dual power supply. It also closes when the voltage on one of the batteries is too low to operate the Cyrix.
In order to avoid unintentional operation during installation or, if one of the batteries has been separated, the Cyrix-CT 12/24 does not close if the voltage on one of the two battery connections below 2 V (12 V battery) or 4 V (24 V battery).
Parallel connection for an emergency (Start Assist)
The Cyrix can also be switched on via a print button (Cyrix stays in operation for 30 seconds) or via a switch to connect the batteries in parallel by hand.
This is particularly useful in the event of an emergency if the starter battery is unloaded or damaged.
