The Victron Energy Skylla-TG 24/30(1+1) 120-240V battery charger (MPN: SDTG2400301) is a microprocessor-controlled charger for 24-V battery systems with a 30 A charging current at the main output. An additional output, limited to 4 A, is used to charge a separate starter battery. The three-stage IUoUo charging curve, temperature compensation, and voltage-sense function enable controlled battery charging and take into account both the battery temperature and voltage drops in the wiring. In addition, the Skylla-TG can be used as a stabilized 24-V power supply.

Main output and separate starter battery output
The Skylla-TG 24/30(1+1) features two separate charging outputs for different purposes. The main output provides a charging current of up to 30 A for the connected 24-V battery bank. Additionally, there is an output limited to 4 A, which is intended for charging or trickle charging a separate starter battery.
This allows, for example, a larger service battery and a starter battery to be charged using a single charger. For the main battery, Victron specifies a recommended battery capacity of 150 to 500 Ah.
Three-Stage IUoUo Charging Characteristic
The microprocessor-controlled charging process operates using a three-stage IUoUo charging curve. During this process, the battery goes through the bulk, absorption, and float charging phases. Initially, charging occurs at a high current; during the absorption phase, the voltage is regulated; and finally, it is reduced to the float charging voltage.
For the 24/30 model, the absorption charging voltage is 28.5 V DC and the float charging voltage is 26.5 V DC.
Temperature Compensation and Voltage Sense
The Skylla-TG includes a temperature sensor to monitor the battery temperature. Based on this measurement, the charger can adjust the charging voltage accordingly. If the battery temperature rises, the charging voltage is reduced.
In addition, the charger supports Voltage Sense. This feature measures the voltage directly at the battery or the DC distribution panel, allowing the charger control system to account for voltage losses in the connecting cables.
Can Also Be Used as a Regulated Power Supply
In addition to standard battery charging mode, the Skylla-TG can be used as a stabilized DC power supply. This makes the device suitable for appropriately designed 24-V applications that require a stable output voltage.
Remote alarm and integrated protection functions
Potential-free contacts are available for signaling operating and alarm conditions. These are specified at 60 V / 1 A and consist of one normally open contact and one normally closed contact.
The charger also features protection against short circuits, reverse battery polarity, excessive battery voltage, and overheating. Heat dissipation is provided by an active cooling system.
