The Victron shunt 6000A - 50mV is required for current measuring devices with analogue or digital display instruments, as these are usually realized by measuring a very low voltage on a shunt. In the case of Victron shunts 1000A - 6000A, this is 50mV. The smaller the measurement voltage at the shunts, the lower the impact on the rest of the system circuit. At 50mV, this provides an excellent value.

The shunt is installed in the line with the current to be measured. The small voltage dropping across this resistor is evaluated with a measuring device such as the Victron BMV 700 battery monitor and values such as the current current flow are derived and displayed.
