The Offgridtec olp 180w v2 (mpn 018485) is a powerful solar module with a full-black design. With its overlapping wafer design and advanced PERC cell technology, it ensures outstanding performance and is ideal for various applications that require a powerful energy source.

It is the revised version of the popular olp 180w 12v solar module (mpn 3-01-013105). The increased maximum system voltage of 1000 vdc expands integration possibilities in existing and new solar systems, while the increased maximum current improves the overall performance of the module. In the new version, the solar modules are equipped with both improved solar cells and 11 busbars, which leads to improved light absorption and reduces the effect of partial shading.

Overlapping design

Overlapping in the wafer design of monocrystalline solar modules is crucial for their extraordinarily high module efficiency. It enables more precise use of the available surface area, minimizes power losses through reduced lead resistance and limits material losses during production. The targeted arrangement of the wafers effectively minimizes empty spaces between them, thereby increasing the power density and optimizing the overall efficiency of the modules. This method is therefore particularly advantageous for Solaraapplications in rooms with limited space, as it maximizes energy generation per unit area.

Innovative PERC technology

PERC technology, also known as Passivated Emitter Rear Cell or rear-side passivation, is a key technology in Offgridtec olp solar modules that increases the efficiency of solar cells. It creates a dielectric layer between the conventional aluminium metallization and the silicon wafer layer on the back of the cell. A laser is applied to this layer to create tiny holes. This dielectric layer reflects light, which normally penetrates through to the rear side without generating charge carriers, back into the solar cell. This gives photons an extra chance to generate electricity. PERC technology improves efficiency across different wavelengths, increases the likelihood of electrons contributing to electricity generation and helps to reduce system costs and increase energy yield per unit area.
