The backup systems from Offgridtec are ideal for emergency power supply or for expanding an existing solar system. The systems include lithium-ion batteries from Pylontech, a matching MultiPlus II inverter and a Cerbo GX MK2 for system monitoring from Victron Energy. This allows you to secure your energy supply even in the event of a power failure.

Thanks to the UPS function, the MultiPlus remains switched on even in the event of a mains failure and takes over the supply to the connected loads. The switchover happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices can be guaranteed.

Extended use of your backup system:
In order to be able to set up an ESS (Energy Storage System) with the backup system, one energy meter with connection cable is required (Victron VM-3P75CT Energy Meter 3-phase power meter 75A/phase and one energy meter 75A/phase);meter 75A/phase and a5m Victron RJ45 UTP cable)
With a power meter you can carry out a grid-parallel installation and then monitor your energy consumption and control your energy costs. Thanks to phase compensation, you can also operate the 3-phase meter for single-phase systems. This means that seamless integration of decentralized energy sources and consumers into the existing power grid is no problem.

In order for an ESS to be taken into account in the pre-configuration, the meter must be purchased in advance or for the system!

The electronic core - the Victron Multiplus-II device combination:
The Multiplus-II 48/5000/70-50 is a high-end device combination from Victron Energy that combines classic Multiplus components with an external current sensor and integrated anti-islanding function. This extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 100 A and extends the potential range of use to ESS applications. The inverter module delivers a full 5000 W with a non-linear load and 4000 W with a linear continuous load. The 48 V battery charger is also very well proportioned with 70 A charging power and is supplemented by a 50 A transfer switch, which can be used to switch back and forth between the AC connections at lightning speed.

Always enough power thanks to PowerControl and PowerAssist:
A maximum mains or generator current can be set on the MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50. The MultiPlus-II then takes other connected AC consumers into account and only uses the current that is still "available" to charge the battery. This prevents the generator or mains connection from being overloaded (PowerControl function). The PowerAssist function adds a new dimension to the PowerControl principle. Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such cases, the MultiPlus-II immediately compensates for insufficient generator, shore power or mains power with energy from the battery. If the load is reduced, i.e. consumers are switched off, the available energy can then be used to charge the batteries again.

Maximum flexibility thanks to two AC outputs:
The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a mains failure or an interruption in the shore/generator power, the MultiPlus-II takes over the supply to the connected loads. The switchover takes place so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed. The second output only supplies power if alternating current is available at the input of the MultiPlus-II. Consumers that are not allowed to discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.

Remote configuration and monitoring:
Install a Color Control GX or other GX products to connect to the Internet. The operating data can be saved and viewed free of charge on our VRM (Victron Remote Management) website. If systems are connected to the Internet, they can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.

The MultiPlus-II is delivered unconfigured as standard. You can find the configuration instructions for the system here in the download area.
