The Growatt MIC 750TL-X2 (MPN: MIC 750TL-X2) is a compact grid-tied inverter for single-phase photovoltaic systems. The inverter delivers 750 W of rated AC power and features an MPP tracker with a single PV string input. Furthermore, a PV power of up to 1,120 W is recommended. With a maximum input current of 16 A, an MPPT voltage range of 50 to 500 V, and a maximum efficiency of 97.4%, this string inverter combines the essential functions for grid-tied conversion of solar power in a compact enclosure. Operation is via touch buttons and an OLED display; RS485 and optional monitoring interfaces, among others, are available for system communication.
Compact 750 W string inverter with 16 A PV input
750 W AC rated power for single-phase grid feed-in
Up to 1,120 W recommended PV power on the DC side
1 MPP tracker with 1 PV string input
OLED display and touch button for display and operation on the inverter
Integrated RS485; additional monitoring options depending on the accessories used
IP66 enclosure with high protection against dust and water
Natural convection for passive heat dissipation
Integrated protection functions for the DC and AC sides
One MPP tracker for one PV string
The inverter features an MPP tracker and a PV string input. During operation, the MPP tracker (Maximum Power Point Tracker) determines the optimal operating point for the connected solar modules. This allows the inverter to utilize the available PV power within its permissible operating range. For this model variant, Growatt specifies a maximum recommended PV power of 1120 W.
OLED Display, Touch Controls, and Monitoring
The front panel combines a touch button, an OLED display, and an LED status indicator. The connections for PV, AC, DRM, communication, and USB are located on the bottom of the inverter. The touch button is used to switch between display screens and to select and confirm settings. The status indicator signals, among other things, normal operation, warnings, and errors. RS485 is integrated for communication. Additionally, USB, Wi-Fi, RF, and LAN can be used as available or optional interfaces. OLED, LED, Wi-Fi, and an app are also available as display and monitoring options. These include the optional monitoring devices ShineWiFi-X, Shine4G-X, ShineLink-X, and ShineLAN-X.
Protection Features for Grid Operation
Growatt equips the MIC-X2 series with several built-in protection and monitoring functions. These include:
DC reverse polarity protection
DC switch
Type III AC/DC overvoltage protection
Insulation resistance monitoring
AC short-circuit protection
Ground Fault Monitoring
Grid monitoring
Anti-islanding protection and residual current monitoring
AFCI—an optional protection feature on the EU model
Anti-islanding protection is used to monitor the grid connection. If the public grid is disconnected or fails, the grid-tied inverter must not autonomously maintain an off-grid system. This distinguishes the MIC 750TL-X2 from inverters that are specifically designed for off-grid, emergency power, or backup power applications.
