The Growatt MIC 600TL-X2 (MPN: MIC 600TL-X2) is a compact grid-tied inverter for single-phase photovoltaic systems. The inverter provides 600 W of rated AC power and features an MPP tracker with a single PV string input. With a maximum input current of 16 A, an MPPT voltage range of 50 to 500 V, and a maximum efficiency of up to 96.5%, it is designed for grid-tied conversion of solar power. Operation is via touch buttons and an OLED display; RS485 and optional monitoring interfaces, among others, are available for system communication.
Compact 600 W string inverter for single-phase PV systems
600 W AC rated power for single-phase grid feed-in
Up to 900 W recommended PV power of the connected modules
1 MPP tracker with 1 PV string input
OLED display with touch button for viewing and operation directly on the unit
Integrated RS485; additional monitoring options depend on the accessories used
IP66 protection rating against dust and high-pressure water jets
Passive cooling via natural convection without a fan
Comprehensive integrated protection and monitoring functions
One MPP tracker for one PV string
The string inverter operates with an MPP tracker and a PV string connected to it. The MPP tracker (Maximum Power Point Tracker) continuously adjusts the operating point of the connected solar modules so that the available PV power can be used efficiently within the permissible operating conditions. For the MIC 600TL-X2 model, Growatt specifies a maximum recommended PV power of 900 W.
600 W output power and single-phase grid injection
On the AC side, the inverter provides 600 W of rated power or 600 VA of maximum apparent power. The nominal connection is single-phase at 230 V. It is designed as a transformerless grid-tied inverter, converting the direct current from the PV modules into grid-compliant alternating current and feeding it into the connected public power grid. Battery connection as well as emergency power, backup power, or UPS functions are not specified for this model.
Operation and System Monitoring
The front panel features an OLED display, a status indicator, and a touch button. The touch interface allows users to switch between display screens and confirm settings or selections. The status indicator provides information on the current operating status and signals, among other things, normal operation, warnings, or errors. RS485 is integrated for communication. Additionally, USB, Wi-Fi, RF, and LAN can be used as available or optional interfaces. OLED, LED, Wi-Fi, and an app are also available as display and monitoring options. These include the optional monitoring devices ShineWiFi-X, Shine4G-X, ShineLink-X, and ShineLAN-X.
Protection Features for Grid Operation
Growatt equips the MIC-X2 series with several built-in protection and monitoring functions. These include:
DC reverse polarity protection
DC switch
Type III AC/DC surge protection
Insulation resistance monitoring
AC short-circuit protection
Ground Fault Monitoring
Grid monitoring
Anti-islanding protection and residual current monitoring
AFCI—an optional protection feature on the EU model
Anti-islanding protection monitors the grid connection and prevents unauthorized continued operation in the event of a grid outage. This ensures that the inverter is designed for intended operation as a grid-tied PV inverter.
