The Growatt MIC 2000TL-X2 (MPN: MIC 2000TL-X2) is a compact grid-tied inverter for single-phase photovoltaic systems. With a rated AC power output of 2000 W, an MPP tracker, and a PV string input, it is suitable for appropriately sized, grid-connected PV systems. Growatt specifies a maximum recommended PV power of 3000 W for this model variant. Key technical specifications include a maximum input current of 16 A, an MPPT voltage range of 50 to 500 V, and a maximum efficiency of 97.4%. An OLED display, touchscreen controls, and various monitoring options round out the features.
Compact 2000 W string inverter with 16 A PV input
2,000 W AC rated power for single-phase grid feed-in
Up to 3,000 W recommended PV power
1 MPP tracker with 1 PV string input
OLED display with touch button for local display and operation
Integrated RS485; additional monitoring interfaces available
Passive cooling via natural convection
Integrated protection and monitoring functions
One MPP tracker for one PV string
The inverter features an MPP tracker and a PV string input. The MPP tracker (Maximum Power Point Tracker) adjusts the operating point of the connected PV string during operation so that the available solar power can be utilized within the permissible operating limits. Growatt specifies a maximum recommended PV power of 3000 W for the MIC 2000TL-X2.
OLED Display, Touch Controls, and Monitoring
For local operation, the MIC 2000TL-X2 features an OLED display, a touch button, and an LED status indicator. It also includes DC switches as well as connections for PV, AC, DRM, communication, and USB. The touch button can be used to switch between display information and to select and confirm settings. The LED indicates operating states such as normal operation, warning, or error. RS485 is integrated for communication. USB, Wi-Fi, RF, and LAN can also be used as available or optional interfaces. These include the optional monitoring devices ShineWiFi-X, Shine4G-X, ShineLink-X, and ShineLAN-X. The required communication accessories must be accounted for separately depending on the desired monitoring solution.
Protection Features for Grid Operation
Growatt equips the MIC-X2 series with several built-in protection and monitoring functions. These include:
DC reverse polarity protection
DC switch
Type III AC/DC overvoltage protection
Insulation resistance monitoring
AC short-circuit protection
Ground Fault Monitoring
Grid monitoring
Anti-islanding protection and residual current monitoring
AFCI—an optional protection feature on the EU model
Anti-islanding protection prevents the inverter from maintaining an independent island grid in the event of a failure of the public power grid. The MIC 2000TL-X2 is therefore designed as a grid-tied PV inverter.
