The Growatt MIC 1000TL-X2 (MPN: MIC 1000TL-X2) is a compact grid-tied inverter for single-phase photovoltaic systems. The model offers a rated AC output of 1000 W and features an MPP tracker and a PV string input. A PV power output of up to 1,500 W is recommended for this model. With a maximum input current of 16 A, an MPPT voltage range of 50 to 500 V, and a maximum efficiency of 97.4%, the MIC 1000TL-X2 provides the essential features for efficient grid-tied conversion of solar power. An OLED display, touchscreen controls, and various monitoring options round out the features.
Compact 1000 W string inverter with 16 A PV input
1000 W AC rated power for single-phase grid feed-in
Up to 1500 W recommended PV power
1 MPP tracker with 1 PV string input
OLED display with touch button for viewing and operation
Integrated RS485; additional monitoring interfaces available
IP66 protection rating for high protection against dust and water
Passive cooling via natural convection
Comprehensive integrated protection and monitoring functions
One MPP tracker for one PV string
The inverter features an MPP tracker and a PV string input. The MPP tracker (Maximum Power Point Tracker) adjusts the operating point of the connected solar modules during operation, thereby enabling the available PV power to be utilized within the permissible operating limits. For the MIC 1000TL-X2, Growatt specifies a maximum recommended PV power of 1500 W.
OLED Display, Touch Controls, and Monitoring
For operation, the inverter features an OLED display with a touch button and an LED status indicator. It also includes DC switches as well as connections for PV, AC, DRM, communication, and USB. The touch button can be used to switch between display information and to select and confirm settings. The LED indicates operating states such as normal operation, warning, or error. RS485 is integrated for communication. Additionally, USB, Wi-Fi, RF, and LAN can be used as available or optional interfaces. OLED, LED, Wi-Fi, and an app are also available as display and monitoring options. These include the optional monitoring devices ShineWiFi-X, Shine4G-X, ShineLink-X, and ShineLAN-X.
Protection Features for Grid Operation
Growatt equips the MIC-X2 series with several built-in protection and monitoring functions. These include:
DC reverse polarity protection
DC switch
Type III AC/DC overvoltage protection
Insulation resistance monitoring
AC short-circuit protection
Ground Fault Monitoring
Grid monitoring
Anti-islanding protection and residual current monitoring
AFCI—an optional protection feature on the EU model
Anti-islanding protection monitors grid operation and prevents the inverter from maintaining an independent island grid in the event of a public grid failure. This means that the MIC 1000TL-X2 is designed as a grid-tied PV inverter and not as a stand-alone inverter.
