The Growatt APX 5.0P-B3 is the 5-kWh battery module of the APX HV Battery 2.0. It provides the actual storage capacity of the modular high-voltage battery system and is used in conjunction with the separate APX 5.0M-B3 master module. The battery module is based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology and can be combined with other battery modules within the APX-HV system in a modular fashion.
Important Note— Retroactive expansion with compatible APX battery modules is generally possible. Growatt does not specify a time limit for this. Before expanding the system, the existing battery must be discharged to a 40% state of charge in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. The additional modules must be compatible with the existing battery system and inverter; the maximum permissible system capacity must be observed. The expansion must be performed by a qualified technician in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

5-kWh battery module instead of a master module
The APX 5.0P-B3 is the actual battery module of the APX-HV system and provides 5 kWh of energy. It does not perform any master functions and is therefore used in conjunction with the separate APX 5.0M-B3 master module. The master module handles the central control and monitoring functions of the battery system.
