The SmallBMS NG from Victron Energy is a comprehensive battery management system (BMS) for Victron lithium-NG batteries. It monitors and protects the batteries, manages charging and load disconnections and issues advance warnings in the event of low battery voltage. Thanks to integrated Bluetooth, the BMS enables centralized monitoring via the VictronConnect app, eliminating the need for a separate SmartShunt. The smallBMS NG has a load disconnect output that controls the switching on and off of loads such as inverters. The charge disconnect output enables the remote-controlled switching on and off of chargers. A pre-alarm output warns in good time when the state of charge is low before critical functions are deactivated. The system also offers configurable lower discharge limits and LED indicators for status and warning messages so that you always stay informed. It is a user-friendly solution for the efficient management of your lithium batteries.

Outputs and functions
Load disconnect output - It allows you to conveniently remotely control devices such as the BatteryProtect, inverters, DC-DC converters or other loads with remote switch-on function. Thanks to the maximum output current of 1A, it can even control high-current relays or contactors. Output for charge isolation - This allows you to easily remotely control chargers such as the Smart Charger IP43, the Cyrix-Li-Charge Relay, the Cyrix-Li-ct Battery Combiner or the BatteryProtect. Please note that this output is not suitable for operating inductive loads such as relay coils. Pre-alarm output - notifies you in good time when the battery voltage is low, either by a visible or an acoustic signal. It is activated at least 30 seconds before the load disconnect output is deactivated due to undervoltage. You can use it to control a relay, an LED or a buzzer. The maximum output current is 1A (not short-circuit proof). Configurable lower discharge limit - The minimum SoC value protects your battery from excessive discharge and at the same time ensures that sufficient energy is still available for self-discharge. If the SoC value is low, a warning is displayed in VictronConnect and the pre-alarm is activated. As soon as the lower discharge limit is reached, the BMS triggers an alarm, deactivates the ATD output and switches off all connected loads to optimally protect your battery.
Compatible lithium NG batteries
LiFePO4 batteries are available in voltages of 12.8 V, 25.6 V and 51.2 V and with different capacities. You have the option of connecting these batteries in series, parallel or a combination of both methods to configure battery banks with voltages of 12 V, 24 V or 48 V. For 12 V and 24 V battery banks, you can use up to 50 batteries, while up to 25 batteries can be used for 48 V banks. This gives you an impressive maximum energy storage capacity of 192 kWh at 12 V, up to 384 kWh at 24 V and 128 kWh at 48 V. Here you will find everything you need to expand your system. For applications without integration with Victron inverters/chargers, it offers a cost-effective alternative to the VE.Bus BMS NG, but is not compatible with VE.Bus inverters/chargers such as the MultiPlus and Quattro series and is not compatible with Victron lithium smart batteries.
App usage and monitoring
The BMS is equipped with integrated Bluetooth, which allows you to set it up quickly and easily. With the VictronConnect app, you can make advanced settings via your cell phone or tablet, monitor your devices comprehensively and carry out firmware updates effortlessly. Thanks to Instant Readout, you also have immediate access to all important information such as the battery charge status (SoC), battery temperature, warnings and alarms. This data is conveniently and clearly displayed directly in the device list, without any additional connection.
