How much charge does my on-board battery actually have left? Is the battery really full? Why is energy drawn from the battery even though consumers are switched off? The VOTRONIC LCD battery computer S answers these questions to the nearest percent (%) and ampere hour (Ah). At the touch of a button, it provides comprehensive information about the current charge status of the battery, the battery currents flowing and the battery voltage level. The LCD battery computer S was created based on the well-established VOTRONIC LCD battery computer. The versatile, easy-to-use display functions have been expanded to include a clear, white-lit LCD display that is easy to read, even from a great distance and in poor lighting conditions.
The device is constantly in contact with "its battery" and thus registers and evaluates all battery actions. All charging and discharging currents are meticulously counted, battery size, self-discharge, battery load, etc. are taken into account using programmed characteristic fields. The remaining capacity of the battery is then calculated from the measured values and the battery size. The result is the correct display of the state of charge (the capacity that can still be drawn, remaining charge) of the on-board battery as a numerical value in ampere hours ("Ah") and in percent ("%") as well as a clear level bar, like a fuel gauge. The LCD battery computer S is suitable for all battery types (acid, gel, AGM, lithium adjustable) with 12V and 24V battery voltage.
Of course, the current battery voltage ("V") and the current battery current ("A") are also available in the display. Discharge currents (consumers) are marked with a minus sign. Charging currents are also marked with an easily legible "Charge" sign. Independent of this, there is another display option for the voltage of a second battery, e.g. for monitoring the vehicle's starter battery.
The LCD battery computer S has a freely programmable switching output for control, monitoring and warning purposes, e.g. to switch consumers automatically depending on the charge level of the on-board battery (0-100%) or issue a warning. On and off switching points can be set freely and independently of one another in %, which enables any switching functions. In addition, these can be manually overridden at any time by pressing a button.
Application example: Automatic protection of the battery against harmful deep discharge, the consumers are switched off exactly according to the state of charge, e.g. if the state of charge is less than 25%. An EMERGENCY ON function is possible at the push of a button to continue supplying the consumers. The device can therefore also be used as a remote-controlled main battery switch (on/off) with deep discharge protection.
A plug-in connection cable connects the display with a robust precision measuring resistor (smart shunt), which is connected directly to the negative pole of the on-board battery and to which the voltages and Currents of the battery are recorded. The switching output for connecting signal transmitters or powerful switching relays is also located here.
Suitable for the VOTRONIC modular system, the device lines up with the other display modules both optically and mechanically (uniform height 85 mm) and the low installation depth of only 22 mm allows installation at almost any location.
Important information about the smart shunt:
The selection of the appropriate smart shunt (100 S, 200 S or 400 S) is based exclusively on the maximum continuous load by the consumer (A) and not on the total battery capacity (Ah).
Also available in boat version with moisture-proof electronics!
