The Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-120A battery coupler from Victron Energy (MPN CYR010120430) for 12V and 24V LiFePO4 batteries. It can work with a maximum current of 120A and is, among other things, an ideal addition to the VE.Bus BMS as a battery switch for loads that the VE.Bus BMS cannot switch independently.
Function of the Cyrix battery coupler in general
The Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-120A is a high performance microprocessor controlled relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when one of them reaches a preset voltage level (indicating that the battery is being charged) and that disconnects the batteries again when the voltage drops below the float voltage value (indicating that one or both batteries are being discharged). Cyrix battery couplers are ideal for replacing isolating diodes. Their main feature is that there is practically no loss of voltage, so there is no need to increase the output voltage of the alternators or battery chargers.
How the Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V 120A works
The Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-120A connects a battery charger with a delay time of 3 seconds:
- if the "Charge Disconnect" output of the VE. Bus BMS is high and
- if he measures 13.7 V (or 27.4 V or 54.8 V) or more at his battery charger connection and
- if it measures 2V or more on its battery connection (the Cyrix will remain open if not connected to the battery).
The Cyrix-Li-Charge switches off immediately if its control output reaches the "free floating" (open circuit) state, indicates a cell overvoltage or a cell overtemperature. In general, an over-cell alarm will reset shortly after charging stops. The Cyrix then reconnects the charger. After two attempts to reconnect the device, 3 seconds apart, this delay time increases to 10 minutes. Whenever the battery voltage is below 13.5 V (or 27 V or 54 V), the Cyrix switches off after a delay of 1 hour. Note 1: If the discharge current is 0 or there is only a very small discharge current, the Cyrix will not switch shortly after the charger is switched off and/or disconnected decreases because the battery voltage remains above the value of 13.5 V. Note 2: If the output of the battery charger immediately rises back to 13.7V or more after the Cyrix has switched off, the Cyrix will switch on again with a delay time of 3 seconds. Main technical characteristics Cyrix-Li-Charge as a perfect addition to the VE.Bus BMS A key piece of protection for Victron LiFePO4 batteries is the VE.Bus BMS. However, not all loads or chargers can be controlled directly via the VE.Bus BMS. In order to switch off such loads or chargers, several VE.Bus BMS controllable Cyrix switches available Scope of delivery: 1x Victron Energy CYR010120430 Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-120A battery coupler 1x operating instructions data sheet degree of protection IP IP54 EAN 8719076022183 Ambient temperature -20°C - +50°C manufacturer part number CYR010120430 Warranty 2 years humidity max. 90%, non-condensing manufacturer Victron Energy weight 0.12 kg Dimensions (LxWxH) 4.6 x 4.6 x 8 cm
