Victron BMV Smart 712 battery monitor

The BMV 712 Smart from Victron Energy (MPN BAM030712000R) is the latest battery computer in the BMV family. It provides very precise data on parameters such as battery voltage, current, power, ampere hours consumed, state of charge and remaining runtime at the current discharge rate. The measurement resolution is very accurate and precise compared to similar products. In addition, it is equipped with an integrated Bluetooth module that allows you to access many functions and status reports of the battery computer via a free app.

Key features of the Victron Smart BMV 712 battery monitor

Integrated Bluetooth - Thanks to integrated Bluetooth, the Smart BMV 712 is ready for the "Internet of Things". Meanwhile, in addition to the BMV 712, numerous other Victron items also have the integrated Bluetooth module Networking, evaluation and configuration have never been as convenient as they are today.

Free App VictronConnect – The VictronConnect App allows you to evaluate and evaluate all Victron products with VE.Direct interface. Depending on the device, numerous parameters can be evaluated directly via mobile phone, computer or tablet. There are also options for data logging and data export. So you always know relatively quickly how your system is doing.

Simple installation - All electrical connections are made with the printed circuit board connector on the current shunt. The shunt is connected to the monitor using a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Supplied with: RJ 12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m); No additional components are required. In addition, a separate front bezel for a square or round display; a security ring for rear mounting and screws for front mounting are included.

huge range of functions - Numerous functions for battery monitoring and generously dimensioned electronic components on the circuit board of the Smart BMV allow you to gain deep insights into the life of your battery. In addition, you can use the BMV to identify and fix problems, even in larger battery banks, before damage occurs.

The power consumption of the BMV is only 0.7 Ah per month (1 mA) at 12 V and 0.6 Ah per month (0.8 mA ) at 24V Lithium-ion batteries in particular have almost no capacity left when discharged to the point of low voltage shutdown. After a low voltage shutdown, the capacity reserve of a lithium-ion battery is approximately 1 Ah per 1000 Ah battery capacity. The battery will be damaged if the remaining reserve capacity is drained from the battery. For example, a residual current of 10mA can damage a 200Ah battery if the system is left discharged for more than 8 days. intelligent: monitoring of the midpoint voltage.

A damaged cell or battery can destroy an entire large, expensive battery bank. If batteries are connected in series, a timely warning can be generated by measuring the midpoint voltage. Please also refer to the BMV manual, section 5.2 for more information. Victron recommends the Battery-Balancer (BMS012201000) to maximize the life of series-connected lead-acid batteries.
