New lithium LiFePO4 car starter battery for recuperation

With the new LiFePO4 lithium-iron-phosphate X-Power HV starter battery from CS-Batteries, you have the option of replacing your previous gel battery in your car with a recuperation system with a lithium starter battery. So far, common lithium batteries have not been able to cope with the higher voltage in recuperation mode and switch off.

The CS X-Power HV lithium battery has a special BMS system for this, which regulates the high voltage and the high charging current perfectly for the lithium iron phosphate cells and fully utilizes the energy recovery.

Due to the extremely low internal resistance of LiFePO4 batteries in contrast to AGM batteries, the battery is capable of high currents. This allows the full recuperation capacity of the vehicle's alternator to be used and the battery to be charged more quickly.

With the X-Power HV starter battery you have the full recuperation energy at 1/4 the weight and full suitability for everyday use. Our 40Ah battery replaces a 120Ah gel starter battery and guarantees reliable starting even after a long period of standstill.

The battery is ready to install in a standard battery case and fits in the original battery holder. Since the battery is a little shorter, we also offer you an optional battery holder (CS100154) for quick attachment.

The standardized SAE pole connections also fit the X-Power lithium battery and are installed in next to no time.

A special BMS (Battery Management System) is built into the battery to protect the lithium technology. This BMS is optimized for recuperation and protects your battery from overvoltage, overtemperature, balances the cells when charging and prevents the battery from being deeply discharged.

The LiFePO4 X-Power HV starter battery is connected to the car's alternator like a lead-acid battery. The alternator regulator treats and charges the LiFePO4 starter battery in the same way as a lead battery, no changes to the car or alternator are necessary for this. When installed or removed, the battery must be charged on our special XF5-Performance charger C140005.

The regenerative brake or recuperation brake recovers kinetic energy as electrical energy when braking a vehicle. This is fed into the LiFePO4 battery.

The X-Power battery has a built-in balancer, which adjusts the cells perfectly to the cut-off voltage for maximum starting power with each charge

The LiFeP04 power cells are currently specified with over 3000 charge/discharge cycles when treated within the specified parameters. Thus 4-5 times higher than common lead or gel batteries.
