The Battery Balancer (load state balance) compensates for the charging status of two 12 V batteries connected in series or from several parallel strands of batteries connected in series. When the charging voltage of a 24 V battery system increases to over 27 V, the battery balancer switches on and compares the voltage in the two batteries connected in series.

The battery balancer takes the battery (or the batteries connected in parallel) with the highest voltage a current of up to 1 A. The resulting difference in charging current then ensures that all batteries equalize to the same charging status.
If necessary, several balancers can be switched in parallel.

A 48 V battery bank can be compensated for with three Battery balancers.

The problem:

The lifespan of an expensive batteryank can be significantly shortened by an imbalance of the charging status
A battery with a slightly increased internal leakage current in a 24V or 48V bank from several in series/paralelled batteries causes this battery and batteries connected in parallel are not sufficiently loaded and the batteries connected in series lead to one in this case Overload. In addition, new cells or batteries should all have the same initial loading status if they are switched into series. Smaller differences can be ironed out during the constant voltage phase or the compensation load. However, larger differences lead to the batteries due to an excessive gas (which is caused by overloading), which had a higher initial charging status and due to sulfation (caused by a lack of charging) in the batteries with less initial charging status.

The solution:

Battery balancing
The Battery Balancer (load state balance) compensates for the charging status of two 12V batteries connected in series or from several parallel strands of batteries connected in series.
When the charging voltage of a 24V battery system increases to over 27.3V, the battery balancer switches on and compares the voltage in the two batteries connected in series. The battery balancer takes the battery (or the batteries connected in parallel) with the highest voltage of up to 0.7a. The resulting difference in charging current then ensures that all batteries adapt to the same level of charge.
If necessary, several balancers can be switched in parallel.
A 48 V battery bank can be compensated for with three Battery balancers.

LED display

Green: a (battery voltage> 27.3V)
Orange: lower battery circuit active (deviation> 0.1V)
Orange: Upper battery cycle active (deviation> 0.1V)
Red: Alarm (deviation> 0.2V) remains upright until the deviation has decreased to below 0.14V or until the system voltage drops to below 26.6V.

Alarm relay

Normal open. Closes when the red LED turns on and opens when the red LED turns off.
Reset alarm
Two connections are available for connecting a print button. If the two connections are linked, the relay is reset.
The "reset" state remains active until the alarm is over. Then the relay closes again when a new alarm occurs.
