The Victron Cyrix-I 12/24V-400A (MPN CYR010400000) is a future-oriented battery coupler and prevents unwanted switching processes in charging current distribution.

In some battery control relays, separation processes are triggered at short streams. It can also happen that a large but empty battery group cannot be connected because the voltage drop when switching on the threshold is below the switch.

The software stored in the Cyrix-I does not only refer to voltage values ​​and fixed time intervals. Rather, Cyrix-i takes the trend (tension/time-courses) and only intervenes if the trend changes over a certain time interval. The time delay is proportional to deviation from the trend. In addition, four different switching/time courses can be set.

 No loss of tension  

The Cyrix-i battery control is the alternative to separation diodes. Since there is practically no loss of voltage, the otherwise usual increase in the charging voltage on the alternator or on the charger is eliminated.

 Priority circuit for the starter battery  

Typically, the alternator is directly connected to the starter battery. The on-board system battery, possibly the bow jet battery and others are connected via Cyrix-I devices. Only when the starter battery has reached the corresponding voltage does Cyrix-i switch on the other batteries for parallel loading.

Bidirectional voltage measurement and power supply

The Cyrix-I measures the voltage values ​​of the connected battery groups. It typically also reacts when the on -board system battery is loaded by a charger.

The Cyrix-I has a two-time power supply. It also works when one of the connected batteries has undervoltage for the Cyrix-I operation.

To avoid unwanted switching processes during the installation or after solving the battery connection, Cyrix-I will not switch if the voltage value falls from one of the two battery connections to less than 2V (12V battery), 4V (24V battery) or 8V (48V battery).

Parallel connection in an emergency

The Cyrix-I can also be switched on via a pressure switch (Cyrix-i then remains switched on for 30 seconds). There is also a switch for manual parallel circuit of the batteries. This is particularly helpful if the starter battery should be empty or damaged in an emergency.
