Recovery from deeply discharged "dead" batteries
Unlike most other brands and ranges, the Blue Smart IP22 charger will attempt to recharge a deeply discharged battery by forcing a low charge current on it. Normal charging will then resume as soon as there is sufficient voltage between the battery terminals.

Adaptive 7-stage loading algorithm

Storage mode: Less maintenance and aging when the battery is idle
Storage mode is always activated if there is no discharge within 24 hours. The float charge voltage is then set to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for a 12V battery) to minimize gassing and thereby prevent corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week the voltage is increased to the gassing voltage level. This achieves a kind of equalization charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation - the two main reasons for premature battery failure.
